Aerospace Design Engineer

ÉireComposites currently has a vacancy for an Aerospace Design Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing component panels for aircraft, issuing manufacturing process documentation, project management and ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Composite materials specification and validation.
• Preparation of detail design data (specifications, models, drawings, bills of material, plans, reports, manuals etc.) in accordance with applicable qualification plans.
• Successful completion of the assigned design and development tasks respecting budgeted time and cost constraints
• Issuing the correct bill of materials to production, maintaining document revision control.
• Cooperation with / support of production dept. in the establishment of manufacturing capability and the definition of production processes.
• Reviewing manufacturing process characterisation and risk analysis reports.
• Planning and support of applicable design verification and qualification activities.
• Supports on time resolution of all internal / external audit findings.

Requirements:

• Bachelors or masters degree in engineering, preferably in aerospace design.
• Min. three years work experience.
• Proven working knowledge of CAD systems (CATIA / Solidworks).
• Good knowledge of EASA regulations, certification methodology and acceptable means of compliance.
• Understands EASA CS-25 and FAA Part 25 CFR requirements.
• Working knowledge and demonstrated application of aircraft component design and integration skills.

Manufacturing Process Engineer

ÉireComposites currently has a vacancy for a Manufacturing Process Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for co-ordinating tasks between R&D, engineering design, and manufacturing production. Previous experience in improving manufacturing processes is essential, preferably in composite materials. The role will involve:

  • Composite materials sourcing and supplier qualification.
  • Manufacturing process development, characterisation and control.
  • Maintaining component records, revision control, bills of materials and manufacturing KPIs.
  • Calculation of accurate materials usage and labour required to manufacture aerospace panels.
  • Generating manufacturing process characterisation and risk analysis reports.
  • Conducting process trials, evaluation of production quality and reducing manufacturing process variability.
  • Establishing root causes of production process failure modes and implementing preventative measures to ensure product quality.
  • Acting as a liaison between manufacturing & R&D engineering design dept., advising best practice processes and materials.
  • Review all manufacturing processes and manage a continuous process improvement program.

Renewable Energy Researcher

ÉireComposites currently has a vacancy for an engineer or scientist to work on renewable energy with a focus on floating wind energy.  The role will initially focus on the design and development of a prototype for a floating wind turbine.  Experience in CFD is desired but not essential. The role will involve:

  • Design and Development of prototypes
  • Computational modelling and analysis
  • Project planning and execution
  • Evaluation and analysis of test data
  • Generating project reports

Graduate Mechanical Engineer

ÉireComposites currently has a vacancy for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for R&D work relating to renewable energy and European Space Agency projects. Previous experience in composites or materials’ testing would be advantageous but not essential. The role will involve:

  • Project planning and execution
  • Design of test equipment
  • Development of test methods and operating procedures
  • Material and process development
  • Evaluation & analysis of test results
  • Liaising with customers
  • Generating project reports
