Job Summary
The job involves overseeing CNC operations, including setting up and organizing tooling and fixtures. Responsibilities include working with engineers to design fixtures, procuring necessary equipment, and handling all programming and machining tasks. The role focuses on pattern/mould work and producing aerospace parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Program and set up CNC 5 Axis Milling Machine to tight tolerances.
- Design required fixtures
- CNC machining work relating to aerospace panels and renewable energy / R&D projects Requirement to read and interpret drawings and knowledgeable in GD&T.
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to all safety procedures.
- Maintaining a clean and neat working environment, ensuring high standards of housekeeping and 6s.
- Cross training/Versatility within team and company as required.
- Support scheduling needs for the CNC department and finalise the job requirements.
- Responsible for CNC Operation team.
- Performing other duties as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Leaving certificate or equivalent, technical diploma or associate degree in CNC machining, manufacturing technology or related fields of study.
- Experience: Experience is desired but not essential. On the job training will be provided.
- Skills: 2-5+ years of experience with CNC machines, including 5-axis machines. Experience with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, Hypermill. Ability to set up, operate, and maintain 5-axis CNC machines. Skill in reading and interpreting technical drawings. Use of precision measuring tools and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Ability to identify and resolve operational issues, ensuring precision and quality.
- Other: Fluency in Irish is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical capability to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks
- Highly self-motivated and the ability to work on own initiative.
- Willingness to adapt and help other departments as required in a small company.
- Open to feedback and eager to develop.
