IRISH COMPANY SIGNS MAJOR CONTRACT TO SUPPLY PARTS FOR BOMBARDIER AND AIRBUS AIRCRAFT UNTIL 2030
ÉireComposites has announced a new multi-million euro deal with Spirit AeroSystems, boosting Ireland’s contribution to the civil aviation sector.
GALWAY, May 2024 – ÉireComposites is a design, manufacturing and testing company based in Co. Galway, making a material difference across land, sea and air. It has a steep heritage in light-weight high performance composite materials and aerospace production and provides work to over 70 people in the locality. Parts from its factory have been flying on commercial aircraft since 2008.
This month, ÉireComposites extended a major contract with Spirit AeroSystems, which sees ÉireComposites continuing to produce components for some of Spirit’s key commercial and business-jet aero structure programmes.
Securing the Phase 2 contract is a pivotal moment for the SME, ensuring it has recurring aerospace manufacturing orders all the way up until 2030. The factory provides a comprehensive composites service, recently expanding its offerings to include an additional cleanroom and CNC machine. However, ÉireComposites credits its success to its people, citing the strong leadership of a talented team as a key resource to build a reputation for reliability, creativity, and flexibility across a range of sectors.
CEO Tomás Flanagan commented “The new contract with Spirit is a major endorsement of the ÉireComposites’ team and capabilities; it provides an excellent platform for the company to grow and prosper over the next decade. The contract would not have been possible without support from the company’s main shareholder, Carlo Tassara Assets Management.”
